Thomas Noel

My name is Thomas Donnelly Noel, and I am from the United States of America. I was born in Dover, New Hampshire, which is in the northeast of the United States. I spent the majority of my childhood growing up in South Berwick, Maine.
When I was seventeen, I attended the University of Vermont in Burlington, where I originally intended to study medicine. Within two days of starting classes I had switched my degree field to business, and by the end of the first week I had switched again to Asian Studies and Religion. I graduated three years later, receiving a B.A. focusing in Asian Studies, Comparative Religion, and Chinese.
During the summer and fall of 2005 I studied at Yunnan Normal University, and it was during this period that I met my future wife Haiyan, a Naxi woman from Lijiang.
I enjoy learning languages, teaching, playing basketball, reading, jazz, brewing and fishing. Just remember: all fishermen are dry fly fisherman and if you can tie your own flies, then you will be successful in life.
